PROGRAM SWISS INNOVATION CHALLENGE ASEAN 2021

SWISS Innovation Challenge Asean (SIC Asean) 2021/2022 program was organized by the Faculty of Entrepreneurship & Business, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) in collaboration with the University of Applied Science and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), DRB-HICOM University of Automotive Malaysia, Putra Business School (PBS), and the Management & Science University (MSU). This programme aims to help entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs in innovation-based business and commercial development. The participants in this competition are SME’s, start-ups and higher education institution students from all ASEAN countries.

The sequence of the stages followed by the Swiss Innovation Challenge is aligned to the three steps in the implementation of an innovation project consisting of a description of the innovation and the business model, transposition of the innovation into a business plan and implementation plan. "Integrated Kenaf Bioprocessing System – BioZyme Ultimate Debark Unit (B.U.D.U) has been selected to participate in the SWISS Innovation Challenge Asean (SIC ASEAN) for the SIC Open category.

The participants will be assigned a coach to brainstorm the business innovation idea for each pitching evaluation session. Apart from a coaching session, every participant will be having training sessions conducted by experts every week starting from 8 November 2021 until 11 April 2022. The purpose of this session is to provide participants with information that will help them prepare for the pitching session.

The opening ceremony of the Swiss Innovation Challenge Asean 2021/2022 was held on 8 December 2021 together with the first pitching session on 8 and 9 December 2021. The second pitching session will take place on March 2-3, 2022. Among the training sessions held throughout November 2021 to February 2022 were "Business Model Canvas" (Prof. Dr Mohd Hassan Mohd Osman), "Innovative Digital Marketing Strategy" (Ms Shanti Subramaniam), "Business Model Innovation" (Mr Stefan Philppi), "Business Strategy and Performance" (Mr Robest Yong) and "Intellectual Property" (Prof. Dr Ida Madieha).
